Almost one in two Singaporeans … SINGAPORE — Issues with management, as well as a lack of career development and training opportunities, are creating serious unhappiness at work in Singapore. Less than half of Singapore’s employees (49%) are satisfied in their current job, which is below the global average of 62% employee job satisfaction. This was one of the key findings shared in a recent report titled State of Play: Employee Experience in Singapore – based on a Global Employee Pulse Report conducted by Qualtrics. A unique factor for workers in Singapore, in comparison to the other countries, was that receiving sufficient training to perform their job effectively was also a key factor behind enhanced job satisfaction, as well as increased desire to go to work and higher staff retention rates. Furthermore, ratings for job optimism among Singapore workers is expected to drop further in the coming six months.
